Bienville Books Plans Expansion

Bienville Books will enlarge its sales space by renovating the loft on the second floor and increasing storage space in a room off the stairwell. We hope to finish all the work in time to welcome the SIBA (Southern Independent Booksellers Alliance) to Mobile in September of 2008. After renovations, we plan to move most of our used books upstairs and increase our inventory of new books.

And Speaking of New Books…

We attended SIBA's conference in Atlanta at the end of September and came back with lots of exciting new titles. As usual, we have dozens of advance reading copies to share with our customers. All we ask is that they make a purchase of six dollars or more and, after they read the book, let us know what they thought of it.

Disappointment at Christies

We are sad to report that our triple-signed copy of 'To Kill a Mockingbird' was not sold at the auction on June 19, 2007. Sales were slow in general, with over 100 of the 314 items not sold and many of the rest going for close to the minimum prices. We have listed the book for sale on our online bookstore at biblio.com and hope it will sell shortly.

And for the Holidays…

Look for signed copies of Alice Cooper's book "Golf Monster" after his October 21 appearance at Mobile's Saenger Theater. See you there!
